Auckland Art Gallery—Art & Ideas

Auckland Art Gallery‘s inaugural annual report engages donors and partners with the aim of increasing funding for exhibitions, acquisitions, publications, research, conservation, and learning through communicating the year’s achievements—a delicate balance. Our brief was simple: “somewhere between DUSTY and SKITEY”.
Inverting the notion of a gallery, a minimalist white book cover is wrapped in two featured artworks—juxtaposing Aotearoa New Zealand and international art. The use of negative space and imagery references the experience one might have navigating the gallery—or one’s memory of a show.
